Artfully Living is a way of being.

About Me

I’m Carol, an ontological coach, with a creativity‑based approach to change. My work is shaped by two deeply connected journeys: years of professional coaching practice and my own recovery experience, which began in 2008.

Through recovery, I developed a grounded understanding of trauma—not as something broken, but as a healthy nervous‑system response to experiences that were once too much. I am not a therapist, but I have training in individual, collective, and ancestral trauma, and I am qualified to hold space for clients exploring change with care and integrity. When appropriate, I make referrals to licensed mental health professionals.

My Approach

Ontological coaching provides a framework for exploring your life, your challenges, and your dreams through three interconnected domains: your language, your body, and your emotions. For sustainable change to occur, shifts are needed in all three.

At the heart of my work is change—whether that change involves sobriety, purpose, work, or how someone relates to themselves and the world. I coach from a paradoxical place: my clients are already good enough as they are, and they may also want something more for their lives.

Creativity is an essential part of my practice. Art and creative exploration often open perspectives that conversation alone cannot, helping clients see themselves and their possibilities in new ways.

I work with people who are ready to engage honestly with change and curious about what might emerge when they do.

My Offerings

  • When I work with clients, we are taking a walk through all the different ways that humans can change.  It’s actually a fascinating journey.  We spend time uncovering the driver for the change – what makes it important enough for a person to spend their precious time working on.  That becomes a goal.

  • Group coaching offers a shared space to explore your growth alongside others on a similar journey. Through guided conversations, reflection, and creative practices, you’ll gain new perspectives, feel less alone in your challenges, and learn from the collective wisdom of the group. It’s a powerful blend of personal insight and community support that helps you move forward with clarity and confidence.

  • Workshops are immersive, hands-on experiences designed to spark insight and real change. You can expect guided exploration, meaningful conversation, and creative exercises that help you connect ideas to lived experience. You’ll leave with fresh awareness, practical tools, and something tangible to carry into your everyday life.

    as announced

  • This is a free quarterly space I have opened to allow people to express grief and sadness.  It is also a space to reflect on our current situations as well as consider what future we might want to live in – both individually and collectively. This offer is a direct result of training in trauma healing and learning.

I use music, poetry and meditation to create a safe space for people to bring their grief.  While there is no coaching in these events, people express gratitude for being able to speak and be witnessed. Ritual Space is held quarterly, around the time of the seasonal changes.

Upcoming dates are: Sat. April 4, 2026; Sat. June 27, 2026; Sat. Oct. 3; and, Sat. Jan. 3, 2027.  All sessions will meet from 3-5 pm EST/12-2 pm PST
